Here is a list of TV shows that resemble the most with Prison Break. But first a word or two on Prison Break. It’s one of my favorite shows, Michael Scofield was an amazing character and I enjoyed watching him outwit everyone that stood on his way to accomplishing his goal.

Let’s not forget about the other great characters on the show, T-Bag, Sucre, C-Note, Sarah, Lincoln and many more. Its an awesome TV show.

Vanished was on air from August to November 2006. Only 13 episode of this serial drama. The show ended before the producers wanted, a reason why some of the mysteries remained unsolved.

Jeffrey Collins’ wife goes missing, Graham Kelton, an FBI agent takes charge, a very talented agent with an unfortunate history, his son died in his last case. The case ends up being far complex then first thought.

The ratings were mixed, the premiere was quite popular but its popularity started to decline as episodes went by.

Breakout Kings

Breakout Kings is on air from 2011 to 2012. This is perhaps the most similar TV show to Prison Break, ager two seasons it got canceled, 23 episodes is the total of the crime and action TV show.

A team of US marshals and ex-cons is formed in order to catch the prison escapees, I believe you can notice the similarity. I suppose it works on the premise that it takes a con to catch a con.

Another TV show with mixed reception but if you want to watch something too similar to Prison Break then I strongly recommend this.

House

House was on air from 2004 to 2012. Hugh Laurie is the protagonist of the show and does a fantastic job. One of my favorite shows.

Gregory House is a doctor and the head of the diagnostic department; he is an antisocial genius and does whatever is necessary to solve the puzzle. Doesn’t care too much about human life and is adamant to always tell the truth.

House MD has 8 seasons; it’s a great medical drama, one of the best shows out there.

John Doe

John Doe lasted for only a year, there are 21 episodes of this science fiction drama. Who is John Doe?

A man helps the police and seems to know everything but his name, his search for his identity makes this an interesting drama. It’s a very intelligent show, from the way fishermen discovered him to his weird knowledge and a lot more unanswered questions.

Dominic Purcell is the main character of the show, the same actor that played Lincoln Burrows in Prison Break.

Oz

Oz was on air for 6 years, the creator of the show was Tom Fontana.

Oz is an experimental prison facility. A group of the people in the prison wants power, other money and some to just see tomorrow. One of the most similar TV shows out there to Prison Break.

There are six seasons and 56 episodes of the show, a great crime drama that I am sure you will enjoy.

24 was on air from 2001 to 2010, a new TV show named Live Another Day is a sequel to 24 so you might want to watch them both. Live Another Day has only 12 episodes. Kiefer Sutherland did a great job with this show, his role as Jack Bauer was perfect.

Jack Bauer races with the time to prevent terrorist attack in USA. He is the director of the field ops in Los Angeles. The show is filled with action and unpredictability.

A very popular show with a lot of great ratings from the critics.

The Mentalist

The Mentalist is on air since 2008. Robin Tunney is one of the stars of the show, the same Robin that played Veronica Donovan.

A psychic starts working for the bureau in order to find the man who killed his wife and daughter. Simon Baker does a great job in this crime drama.

CBS renewed The Mentalist for a seventh season. Another great TV show that you shouldn’t allow yourself to miss.

Dexter

A man that is a police forensic by day and a criminal hunter by night. He kills the people who he sees have escaped justice. A very interesting concept that I am sure you will enjoy watching.

Michael C. Hall played the role of his life, a great crime drama that includes Jennifer Carpenter as-well.

Fringe

Fringe stopped airing last year. The pilot’s running time was 81 mins while the episodes in the first season were 50 minutes long.

A female FBI agent with the help of an intriguing scientist tries to solve mysterious cases. A great combination of science fiction and action. There are interesting cases every episode.

The pilot was watched by 9 million people, a great TV show with 100 episodes.

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad has 5 seasons, one of my favorite shows, I am absolutely sure you have heard of it but if by any chance you still haven’t watched it then you have to start, just one advice, have patience…as episodes go by the show just gets better and better.

A chemistry teacher in a high school becomes a drug lord in order to pay for his cancer treatment and in order to provide for his family if he passes away. His partner is already a dealer; with his help they will become invincible.

Highly rated and one of the most popular TV shows ever created. Watch the show or someone will knock on your door (BB fans understand me).
