An L.A. family have their past and future unravel, Maura embraces her new journey, and Sarah introduces her husband to her ex-girlfriend.

Maura moves out of the family house, elsewhere Ali finds some new boundaries to cross. Maura finally comes out to Ali, Shelly’s husband Ed goes missing, and Maura runs into a Pfefferman family friend.

Ali looks for answers in a Gender Studies class, meanwhile Josh goes on a date with Rabbi Raquel. Mort escapes with friend Mark to a cross-dressing retreat.

Maura finds solace with ex-wife Shelly, elsewhere Sarah spends time with her ex-husband.

A funeral brings all the Pfeffermans together, the family busts out a few more secrets after they thought that everything is revealed.
