Season 1 Recap
The season begins with Beth Latimer looking for her son. After she searched for him at his school, she starts driving around. She sees a police blockade near the beach. There, the two inspectors Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller investigate the murder of a young boy. Ellie knows the victim – it is Danny, Beth Latimer’s son. Danny’s death was no accident, it was a murder. After the reporters found out who the victim is, there seem to be a lot of suspects in the small town. Even Ellie’s son is suspicious – after he found out about Danny’s death he deletes several messages from his cell phone and his computer.
But that is not all, not far away from the murder scene there is a cliffside house, but there are no residents in it. Alec and Ellie are really surprised when they find Danny’s father’s fingerprints in the house. But the detectives are not the only one with a burden on their chest. Beth, Danny’s mother could not be more disappointed and devastated. As the murder investigation goes on, she finds out that on the night of Danny’s murder, her husband was with another woman. But that is not all – she is pregnant. Even though Mike regrets for what he did, Beth is not sure if she should keep the baby or not, or how to move on with her life.
With each episode the list of suspects grows larger and larger. Mostly because the residents have many secrets, so they keep lying to the police. Jack is the prime suspect, but everything changes when Alec and Ellie are called to the beach. There is a new body, and it appears to be Jake.
