In Salem, a Puritanical an unwed girl by the name Mary is pregnant with John Alden’s baby. Due to the fact that her lover John died in the war, she is now in a very difficult situation where she is facing the Puritans’ stocks and forehead branding, or giving her and John’s child to the devil.
