During the second World War, Susan, a pattern recognition expert hears on the radio about a serial killer and decides to contact the Deputy Chief Commissioner Wainwright. She claims that he will murder agains but after a brief investigation, the police come up with nothing. Susan, a married woman takes upon herself to find the killer and stop him. She makes a team of four, a team that includes: Millie, a mathematician, Jean, an information gatherer, and a young girl named Lucy, she has an incredible memory. They all work as code-breakers at Bletchley Park.
This team manages to find out by cross referencing data exactly whom and where the serial killer will make the heinous crime. The victim is going to be Mary Lawrence and she is to be killed at Upton Park. They rush over there to stop the murderer but unfortunately they are too late.
The four women came to the conclusion that the killer is a railroad expert, he knows exactly when the trains arrive. Susan goes to the DCI Compton, Wainwright dismisses her. Nevertheless she decides to track down the killer, she is down to three possible men, after an attempt to find him, Lucy gets sexually assaulted while acting as a bait but not from the killer. They also realize that their killer is an expert in espionage as well. Sarah visits ex-spy master Cavendish, he gives her a name of a psychologically unstable man, he was buried under a rubble for three days. She goes to meet him unaware that she is facing the killer.
Susan has a meeting with a man who claims to have been a psychiatrist to one of the suspects. Shortly after the meeting Susan realizes that he is the serial killer, she calls the police but by the time they arrive he has left. Susan goes back to see Cavendish who has been killed, after going to Wainwright, he stays dismissive. Susan’s research helps her find out the serial killers first victim, she makes a final journey that will hopefully finally help her catch the serial killer.
Alice Merren was one of the best code-breakers, years have passed and a lot has changed. Millie works as a German translator, Lucy at Scotland Yard, while Susan is a housewife, a housewife that might live overseas in a short while, her husband might get a promotion and it will result with them having to move. Alice is in prison, she gets a visit from Jean. Alice is awaiting the trial, she killed her colleague and old flame John Richards. After an accidental search of Lizzie’s apartment they find classified military files. The Bletchley circle believes that both mother and daughter were set up.
Alice is about to be hanged, she tells her friends that she thinks that Lizzie was responsible for John’s death. Susan visits, she asks for medical records, she needs them for overseas. She find a soldier badly injured who reveals that him and other soldiers were used for horrible experiments. Meanwhile Jean, Lucy, and Millie find out some more interesting facts about John, like his previous employment. Professor Masters is a daranged human being, he believes that Lizzie and John were Russian spies.
Susan finally moves with her family, India is her new home. Alice on the other hand finds it impossible to find work. Millie is also unemployed, she tries to make illegal money, that bites her in the ass. Jean, Lucy, and Alice look for Millie’s business associate, they fail to find him. Marta releases Lizzie expecting her to bring a lot of money back to her. Millie thinks that young Czech girls are brought as sex slaves. Jasper has been murdered.
