Summary: Selina Meyer becomes the Vice President of the United States of America, shortly after she finds out that it is not like she thought it would be like and that it is in fact as everyone warned her it would be.

Selina Meyer is still getting used to DC alongside her staff: right-hand Gary, executive assistant Sue, chief of staff Amy, and spokesperson Mike. With the President out of country, Selina is responsible for meeting the “normal” people. There is a story that things are not well with Selina and the First Lady, the Vice President takes the blame. Dan and Amy attack a charismatic war hero, Gov. Danny Chung at his book launch. Selina worries that their actions could result as a political threat.
Selina becomes obsessed with all the unflattering nicknames she gets from various bloggers. While at a healthy-eating event, Selina confides a secret to Amy. There is a pregnancy rumor and Selina with her staff are in a bad situation, the Vice President loses it and threatens to fire a key staffer. Selina travels to Ohio to support a candidate while the Clean Jobs bill comes back to haunt Dan.
Selina had a successful campaign, she sees that as an opportunity to expand her role. A hostage situation heats up in Uzbekistan, Selina and the General Maddox have trouble agreeing on very important issues. Selina is disturbed when an unsettling photo of her is released in public by the White House.
Selina and her staff head to Helsinki to finalize and important agreement. Dan calls on Mike for advice about charming the press. Amy and Gary are worried about how Selina will react to seeing her ex-husband Andrew. Mike inquiries Selina’s involvement in the Uzbekistan’s crisis. With a big crisis in DC, Slina is forced to let go some of her staff. Even with Selina being fully prepared for an interview, she gets thrown by some “gotcha” questions.
POTUS suggests Selina to minimize her public appearances, she ignores it and joins a running marathon. DC is sill in crisis and so is Selina’s future, the staff goes out hunting for new jobs.
Selina searches for a campaign manager. Although she has not announced her plans to run for president in public, everyone manages to find out at Mike’s wedding. Selina and her administration try to decide on a big issue in which Jonah stirs a havoc through his blogs.
Selina is hours away from announcing her candidacy and Dan tries to get SNL’s apologies for a sketch they did about Selina. Selina and her team take a trip to California where they visit the Clovis’ company. Jonah creates a video about Selina that goes viral.
Amy and Dan compete for the position of campaign manager while Selina meets with the RD candidate. Gary worries that his shoulder pain might stop him from keeping his job while Selina and co. persuade George Maddox not to run for president.
When an anti-gun rumor spreads, Selina goes to a gun show in Detroit, she is not happy when her daughter gets into the spotlight.
During her trip to London, Selina is bombarded with questions about Ray’s condition whose online beliefs have been covered by Jonah.
Selina and her staff prepare for a debate that includes Maddox, Congressman Owen Pierce, Chung, and Joe Thornhill, a major league baseball manager.
Thornhill takes the lead in the race, the staff and Selina start discussing how to make her more folksy. Three days before the New Hampshire primary, the staff takes a deeper look into her official obligations and campaign appearances.
