A couple with two kids welcome new housemates, Brett tries to convince his friend Alex to stay in Los Angeles, meanwhile Michelle gets a visit from her older sister. Tina tries to get Alex out of his funk, on the other hand Brett tries to mend a relationship. Tina finds herself jealous of Alex, Michelle organizes a day of fun with old friends. Brett meets a woman during a morning hike, Tina struggles with her business. In the season finale Brett decides to share his feelings with Michelle.
